Label full

This weekend has been full to the brim with labels it seems!  Yesterday I frequented Rough Trade East to celebrate Record Store Day. Much fun was had as everybody crowded around tables neatly laid out with exclusive 7" picture disc galore. I enjoyed the vast array of  styled facial hair (the staple badge of grown-up indie kids) and later, wry smiles between strangers clutching Rough Trade bags.
It seems fitting, then, that today I made a batch of labels for my own - less musical - creations ...
I think the grey ones are my favourite at the moment. Hope you've had a good weekend!

Light Box Experiments

I'm hoping to get my etsy shop up and running shortly and (as with all online shopping) it's all about the photos! Lighting in my flat is always a bit of an issue as I'm not generally around during the day ... so I thought I'd give a light box a go! I've started small, with a rather mini box, but it seems to have worked well. Hurrah!

(I shan't celebrate too loudly as I'm not too sure my fellow co-habitor will be happy I'm siphoning away cardboard boxes in anticipation of our move ... shhhh) To shoot,  I used a bow-tie pin made for Joe's birthday last month. Being dark blue velvet, it proved a good challenge to get a clear picture. If you have any tips, let me know!
